This notice explains how Empowa (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects personal data when you visit empowa.world, request a demo, or interact with our platform. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. The notice is written to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, and equivalent data-protection regimes in the other markets we serve.
1. Who we are and how to contact us
Empowa provides software for housing developers, operators, and capital allocators running Rent-to-Own programmes. For any privacy question, contact greg.schneider@empowa.io.
2. What personal data we collect
When you contact us via the website, we collect:
- Name, work email, company, country / region (form submission)
- The content of your message and your reason for contact
- Standard server logs (IP address, user-agent, timestamps)

When operators use the Empowa platform, we process tenant and applicant data on their behalf as a data processor under a Data Processing Agreement. That activity is governed by the operator’s own privacy notice.
3. Why we process this data
- To respond to demo requests and enquiries. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
- To run the website and our infrastructure. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
- To meet legal and regulatory obligations. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
4. Who we share data with
We use a small number of vetted processors, for hosting, email, analytics, and customer-relationship management. Each processor operates under a contract requiring GDPR-compliant safeguards. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising purposes.
5. International transfers
Where personal data is transferred between jurisdictions, we use Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or other safeguards appropriate to the regions involved. Specifics are confirmed during onboarding for each operator.
6. How long we keep data
Demo-request and contact-form data is retained for up to 24 months after the last interaction, unless you ask us to delete it sooner or unless legal obligations require longer retention. Server logs are retained for up to 12 months.
7. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. To exercise any right, contact greg.schneider@empowa.io. You can also lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority that applies in your jurisdiction.
8. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced on the website.
